Keep Yourself Full is a spiritual handbook that focuses on our return to self-love. It is a reminder that self-care nourishes the quality of our lives and makes us fit to be of service to others. Through my own personal testimony, I give examples of how we self-abuse and how that differs from self-love, why it is important not to take things so personally, why we must establish and enforce healthy boundaries, and how assumptions kill relationships. We learn that by investing in our well-being spiritually, physically, mentally, and professionally we can be of service fully to others. It cannot be ignored that we treat others how we feel about ourselves. When we realize that what we do to others we are equally doing to ourselves, we can use this awareness to heal. By treating ourselves better, we treat others better. Keep Yourself Full is about keeping ourselves filled with love and all that is good so that we are overflowing with enough to share with everyone else.
The Atlanta African American Book Festival is a yearly book festival held in Atlanta, Georgia. The event is a great opportunity for community members to meet and engage with their favorite African American authors. The purpose of the Atlanta African American Book Festival is to educate, entertain, and impact the Atlanta community through African American literature. Yecheilyah is one of many featured authors at this event. Come out to meet her face to face, get pictures, buy books at discounted rates, and network with other professionals. This event is free and open to the public.
“I am getting tons of emails from you all about the festival and there seems to be some confusion. For clarity, I am not the host, coordinator, or organizer of this event. I cannot give you information on how to sell your books there. If you are an author and would like to be a vendor you will need to contact AAABF by visiting the website at www.aaabookfest.com. The event is on this page because I am a featured author of the event and I am inviting readers of my work (or potential readers) out to support me (if you are a lover of poetry, Black Historical Fiction, Women’s Fiction, and Inspirational Non-Fiction) but I am not the organizer. I cannot give you information on how to pay for a table to sell your books except to refer you to the website. “
I am Soul turns one on December 20th! Help Nia and me to celebrate the one-year anniversary of my fourth collection of poetry at the Medubookstore in Greenbriar Mall on Saturday, December 22, 2018. If you have not been to one of my signings or do not have this book in paperback yet, this is a great place to start.
Book Signing and Reading for Even Salt Looks Like Sugar - For those of you who do not have the new book, I am offering you an opportunity to come out to this event and celebrate with me. I will have signed paperback copies of Even Salt Looks Like Sugar and I’ll also be reading from the book. This is also a great time for a Q&A session. Is there something you would have liked to see happen in the story? Do you have a favorite part? Least favorite part? Ask me all the questions you want!
There will be light refreshments available so you can get your snack on too while I tell you a story. Get a picture with me or bring another book of mine you have to be signed. Either way, come on out and show some love! If you have not been to one of my signings yet, this is your chance! You know they be lit! It doesn't matter which of my books you have, bring them to be signed!
